Change to TTC service on almost 40 routes starts Sunday

Most changes to streetcar, subway and bus routes will see cuts or longer wait times, while some will see better service.

The TTC is changing service on 37 daytime bus, streetcar and subway routes as well as two overnight bus routes as the agency aims to improve “reliability” and match ridership demand.On Lines 2 and 4, the TTC is adjusting subway service “at all times of day” to match demand. Service on lines 1 and 3 will remain the same.

On the 501/301 Queen streetcar will see changes in service between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. from Monday to Friday. For the 504/304 King streetcar, the TTC is adding a pantograph overhead installation between Dufferin Street and Shaw Street, which is supposed to improve heating and air conditioning, better vehicle performance as well as reduce delays.

Riders of the 941 Keele Express, 35 Jane and 36 Finch buses will see longer wait times. Other routes like the 948 Sheppard West will have part of their service suspended, whether it be on the weekend or certain times of the day. Most of the service cuts on Sunday and Monday will affect poorer areas, impacting marginalized communities heavily,
