OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks announced on Monday the signing of American quarterback Dustin Crum to a one-year contract extension . Crum , who was slated to become a CFL free agent next month, agreed to terms with the team, ensuring his continued presence in the Canadian Football League . The 26-year-old quarterback played in all 18 regular-season games last year, serving primarily as a backup to Dru Brown.

In limited action, Crum completed 31 of 45 passes for 320 yards, throwing two interceptions. He also showcased his mobility, rushing 39 times for 206 yards (a 7.1-yard average) and seven touchdowns. This marks Crum's third season with the Ottawa Redblacks. He has now accumulated 36 career CFL regular-season games played, completing 297 of 431 passes (68.9 percent) for 3,429 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Crum has also proven to be a valuable asset on the ground, rushing 135 times for 918 yards (a seven-yard average) and 16 touchdowns.CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders secured the services of their leading rusher from the past two seasons by re-signing American running back Dedrick Mills. Mills, who was eligible to enter CFL free agency next month, opted to remain with the Stampeders. The 28-year-old, standing at five-foot-10 and weighing 227 pounds, had a career-best season in 2023, rushing for 923 yards on 163 carries (a 5.7-yard average) and scoring one touchdown in 13 games, making 12 starts. Mills also showcased his versatility with 31 receptions for 327 yards, another career high. Over his three seasons in Calgary, Mills has appeared in 33 career regular-season games.
