A young Cape May man with an interest in history has brought the story of the crash of the fast Midnight Flyer train at Winslow Junction to life for its centennial.

A century ago, on July, 2, 1922 the Midnight Flyer crashed at Winslow Junction, killing six and injuring 89 in a horrific case of mistaken identity. A railroad worker in a tower mistook the Midnight Flyer for a different train and switched the fast-moving express from the main line track on to a curved branch line track meant for slower trains.
