The show involves the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the peculiar medium and clairvoyant Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to collect material for his next book. The plan backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his determined and unpredictable first wife, Elvira, following the séance. Elvira makes repeated attempts to disrupt Condomine’s marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.

Blithe Spirit stars a team of eager local actors including Alan Slipp, Melanie Clouthier, Ewan Fox, who also is a co-director of the production; Chantel Pitcher, Allyson Higgins, Liz Stern and Penny Nelson.– Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.– $18 for adults, $15 for students and seniors 65 and older, and $7 for children 12 and younger. Members receive a $1 discount. Theatre officials recommend people call the hotline at 902-678-8040 for reservations.
