That's the largest numeric growth in the U.S. in that period. Florida ranked second, growing by an estimated 416,754. No other state's increase topped 150,000.

Texas saw the fourth-largest growth as a percentage of population, growing 1.6 percent, trailing Florida , Idaho and South Carolina . South Dakota and Montana followed Texas. Of the 10 largest states, California, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan lost population since the 2020 census, according to estimates, and Texas, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina grew.
