The West Coast rapper, born Artis Leon Ivey Jr., was known for massive '90s hits like "Fantastic Voyage," "C U When U Get There," "1,2,3,4 " and especially themovie theme "Gangsta's Paradise." After debuting in 1987 with the single "Whatcha Gonna Do?," he joined the group WC and the Maad Circle, then officially went solo in 1994, signing to Tommy Boy Records and released his platinum-selling debut album,.
