In celebration of the coronation of King Charles III, a number of provincial parks will be offering free day use on Saturday, May 6 — including three in our area.
Ten cultural sites and 39 provincial parks will be open for free day use Saturday, including Pancake Bay, Batchawana Bay and Lake Superior provincial parks. At Queen's Park in Toronto, there will be a flag-raising ceremony, 21-gun salute and drum circle at 11:15 a.m. with Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Premier Doug Ford, speaker Ted Arnott and Indigenous leaders.
The cultural attractions offering free admission on May 6 are all located in southern Ontario: Art Gallery of Ontario, Fort William Historical Park, McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Niagara Parks’ Butterfly Conservatory and Floral Showhouse, Ontario Science Centre, Royal Botanical Gardens, Royal Ontario Museum, Science North and Upper Canada Village.
