CDK’s software is used by more than 15,000 retail locations in the United States, and the company has asked dealers to make alternate plans for their month-end financial closing processes
CDK Global does not expect the cyber attack-led continuing outage in its dealer management software, used by dealers across the United States, to be restored before the end of the month, according to a memo seen by Reuters on Tuesday.
In an interview with Automotive News, CDK CEO Brian MacDonald said he was communicating with “many dealers, OEMs and partners directly.” The continuing CDK outage has forced some U.S. auto dealers to switch back to manual paperwork. It has impacted about half of Volkswagen dealers and around 60 per cent of Audi’s dealers in the United States, according to a source familiar with the matter.
