A new study has revealed a possible link between CBD (cannabidiol) and sun protection—and the data suggests it may even reduce the risk of skin cancer. Experts share thoughts.
A few years ago, it felt like CBD was everywhere: in bath soaks, topical creams, mint-flavored oils, gummies, even lube and skin care. Your coworkers were talking about it. Your parents were using it. Sephora was selling it.
Friedman isn’t 100 percent sure if you can get the same benefits from smoking weed or taking CBD oil; more studies are required, though he says taking an oral CBD would be more likely to show benefits than smoking. Next, he hopes to move into testing in the prescription space. “My hope is that this generates revenue to pay for more impactful studies to treat skin diseases. I think sky's the limit with CBD and other cannabinoids,” he says.
