Thanks to your generous support, CBC Toronto's Sounds of the Season fundraiser was able to raise more than $1 million for local food banks while also netting plenty of non-perishable food to load into this Daily Bread truck.

So far, we've raised about $92,000 and we're looking forward to seeing that tally go up as the day goes on.About one in 10 people in Toronto currently depend on food banks, and last year more than 50 per cent of new food bank users came from households where at least one person is employed. Balluch said about 60 per cent of his income goes to rent, and there isn't much left for the necessities or small pleasures.
