Lucio was charged with capital murder in the 2007 death of her then-youngest daughter, Mariah, at the family’s Harlingen home. She was pregnant with twins at the time. Lucio, a 52-year-old mother of 14, would be the first Latina put to death in Texas in the modern era and the first woman in nearly a decade in the state.
