State police responded to a feral cat being shot by an unknown object Saturday afternoon.

Pennsylvania State Police in Lykens are investigating the shooting of a feral cat in the neck outside an apartment complex in Upper Paxton Township. According to a report from state police, the shooting took place around 12:17 p.m. Saturday on the 500 block of State Street.The cat was then sent to the Dauphin County Animal Hospital, where they discovered that the animal had been injured from a gunshot wound to the neck.

The gun was determined to be a small caliber weapon, larger than a BB gun, that has been fired outside the apartment, striking the cat.
