Cases of COVID-19 and hospitalizations soared in Arlington, fueled by the surging omicron variant of the virus. The city has seen 5,284 new cases in the past week, according to the Tarrant County Public Health Department., which have become increasingly popular as the omicron variant spreads. Currently, 171 people in Arlington are hospitalized with the virus, up from 123 last week, according to the city’sArlington has recorded a total of 72,112 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, according to the Tarrant County Public Health Department. Of those, 60,752 have recovered.
