The more he is scolded for listening to those who are angry, the more their exclusion will be reinforced
the convoy he wasn’t supporting “individuals” who blocked “critical infrastructure,” despite the fact that the whole point of the convoy was to block infrastructure. His winking to World Economic Forum conspiracy theories should also raise eyebrows.
None of this, however, makes Poilievre a villain, at least no more so than Trudeau or Singh. Yet Poilievre’s most ardent opponents are not content to challenge his views or his wisdom. Instead, they insist on doing the political equivalent of drawing horns and a tail on his picture and pretending he is actually the devil, and acting shocked when others don’t buy it.
What Poilievre does better than most anyone else is to correctly identify the source of people’s discontent. He is not speaking in abstractions about making the world a better place when he talks about housing prices, the carbon tax, inflation or civil liberties. People clearly feel that he is articulating their very real frustrations and unrealized dreams.Article content
