A St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher looked solid from the mound Thursday night in his first rehab assignment outing since sustaining an injury.

The St. Louis Cardinals will have to stay healthy if they hope to climb to the top of the National League Central and take down the first-place Milwaukee Brewers.Left-handed pitcher Steven Matz made his first appearance in his rehab assignment Thursday night after being sidelined from a lower back strain he incurred at the beginning of May.
