However, divorces do occur, leaving former partners in search of a new mate.Northern cardinal is the correct common name, with cardinal deriving from the red robes and capes worn by Cardinals in the Roman Catholic Church.Its nesting begins in early spring, with two to three broods raised during spring and summer in the Houston area.
