SYDNEY, N.S. — A Sydney filmmaker died before their documentary
It has been finished in the filmmaker's honour and will be shown publicly for the first time on Friday at the Eltuek Arts Centre in Sydney.
The documentary is a Cape Breton Youth Project initiative where yakimchuk worked as an intergenerational outreach worker at the 2SLGBTQ+ non-profit. Funding for the project came from the Diversity and Community Capacity Fund and the Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage.
