Logan Shaw of Glace Bay will be part of Team North for the event, which will take place Feb. 5-6 at Bell Place. Shaw, 30, is currently the captain of the Toronto Marlies. In 33 games with the club, the forward has 11 goals and 36 points and is on pace to break his career-high in points.Shaw won’t be the only player with a Cape Breton connection to play on Team North at the all-star game. Former Cape Breton Eagle Egor Sokolov of the Belleville Senators will also play in the game.
Other players named to Team North include David Jiricek , Justin Barron , Anthony Richard , Brandon Biro , Alex Barre-Boulet , Gabriel Dumont , Darren Raddysh , Noel Hoefenmayer , Joseph Woll and Nico Daws .The Rona AHL All-Star Skills Competition will take place on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. Atlantic time.
