SYDNEY, N.S. – The Cape Breton Regional Police have issued a traffic advisory for Sunday morning in Sydney, Sydney River and Westmount.
Police say traffic will be impacted as part of the annual Cape Breton Fiddlers Marathon between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Runners will depart Victoria Park in Sydney and run along the Esplanade, Kings Road, Keltic Drive, and Westmount Road to the turnaround point at Midgeley Drive.Milestone birthday takes Ana Suresca-Hibbs out of comfort zone and into Cape Breton Fiddlers Marathon
Barricades will be in place along the Esplanade between Dorchester Street and Victoria Park, to restrict traffic in the start/finish area. The Esplanade will also be closed to traffic between Falmouth and Townsend streets where space is limited in the Nova Scotia Community College construction area.Officers and volunteer course marshals will also be present at key points along the routes, along with cones, barricades and signage to redirect motorists where required for the safety of runners.
