SYDNEY — Following the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League trade period on Friday, the Cape Breton Eagles place a pair of players on waivers. Goaltender Giovacchino DiMattia was claimed by the Shawinigan Cataractes. The 19-year-old played four games with the Eagles, recording a 1-3-0-0 record along with a 6.09 goals-against-average and a .847 save percentage. He was a healthy scratch for most of the first half.Defenceman Romain Rodzinski was claimed off waivers by the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. The 20-year-old never played a game with the Eagles this season and was part of the Terrebonne Cobras of the Quebec Junior Hockey League.
