The Islanders defeated the tournament host Sydney Steelers 4-3 at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre to win the title.CAPE BRETON CUP: Host Sydney Steelers, Cape Breton County Islanders open under-13 ‘B’ hockey tournament with wins Thursday Cape Breton County secured their spot in the final with an 8-7 overtime win over the New Waterford Sharks earlier in the day. Meanwhile, the Steelers went undefeated in the round robin posting a 4-0 record and securing a bye to the league final.
Kaiden Fraser's goal at 3:06 of the third period proved to be the game-winner for the Islanders. Benjamin Mackley, Ayden Yhard and Jackson Morrison also netted goals for Cape Breton County.Cape Breton County's Rory Mombourquette picked up the win in goal.
