Cape Breton Cricket Association hosting free fun day to help grow the game

SaltWire's Atlantic regional weather forecast for October 20, 2023 | SaltWireSYDNEY, N.S. — With the addition of cricket to the 2028 Los Angeles Games, Mohammed Junaid Hussain hopes that one day a Cape Bretoner will be an Olympic hero.

“We want the local Canadians to be a part of it. We do have a lot of foreign people in the community that are interested towards the sport and coming in but the major goal of this association is to go to the schools, get the youth involved in it.” A bat-and-ball game played between two teams of 11 players, Hussain typically compares it to baseball when explaining it to Cape Bretoners.
