SaltWire's Atlantic regional weather forecast for October 20, 2023 | SaltWireSYDNEY, N.S. — Alliyah Rowe’s impressive weekend for the Cape Breton Capers women’s soccer team didn’t go unnoticed by the Atlantic University Sport and U Sports this week.
Rowe was named the female athlete of the week for the AUS and one of eight athletes of the week for U Sports. The fourth-year striker from Kitchener, Ont., set two conference records this past week as the Capers swept their two matchups against Memorial and Mount Allison. Rowe had six shots on goal in a 1-0 win over Memorial on Oct. 13, before posting a six-goal performance in a 6-0 win over Mount Allison in Sackville, N.B., on Sunday.
She entered Friday’s game against New Brunswick in Fredericton leading the league in goals . She set the AUS record for goals in a single season and goals in a single game last weekend.
