“It would be nice to add another Top-6 player to help us in the scoring department,” says Jim Benning
Deals are needed for a number of pending free agents, trades could be necessary to add to the squad’s depth and Vancouver will host the draft in June.
“He’s an important guy in our room. When talks about the leaders in our room, he’s one of the guys our young players look up to,” Benning said. “I thought on the ice he had an excellent year for us this year. He’s big and strong and probably our best penalty killer and plays on our power play and you see the minutes that we use him.”“I’ve said all along that I want to stay here, I want to come back next year,” he said Monday. “Hopefully we can get something done here soon.
