The Vancouver Canucks and forward Elias Pettersson have agreed to an eight-year contract extension worth $92.8 million that will keep one of the franchise cornerstones with the team long-term.

Both Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin have done a great job in building this team and creating a culture, along with Rick Tocchet.
