The Vancouver Canucks need to string some wins together if they want to hold onto their Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
It's appropriate that the Vancouver Canucks are in California right now because they've been in-n-out of the playoff picture this week.
The Canucks would love to get away from the brink and move to more comfortable climes by reeling in one of the Los Angeles Kings or Colorado Avalanche ahead of them but that would require stringing some wins together. Getting a second win in as many nights on Thursday against the Ducks would be a good place to start.
The Canucks might also be missing a defenceman on Thursday night. Tyler Myers took a puck to the throat on Wednesday night and left the ice in distress. After the game, head coach Rick Tocchet said that Myers "dodged a bullet" and might be available for Thursday's game but Tocchet has said similar things before.
Vancouver Canucks projected lines Assuming that both Hughes and Myers are in the lineup, we have to assume they'll go back to the standard six defencemen and 12 forwards after dressing seven defencemen on Wednesday. With only an optional morning skate, it's hard to say who will come out of the lineup. With that in mind, we'll make some assumptions and then update when the Canucks take the ice for warm-up.
