A number of season ticket holders have told Postmedia in recent months that team ticket sales representatives have told them that the team is embarking on a multi-year renovation plan, which includes the addition of a 60-member VIP lounge underneath section 117, behind the team benches.
Jamie Parmar is a long-time season ticket holder, with seats in section 117, but in row 11, right behind where the new seats are being installed.“They’re expecting to have this section ready by September,” Parmar said he was told by team representatives.Article content/The new seats on display are a preview of what’s to come. In the affected rows of section 117, the new seats are wider and have cup holders. The seats in the same row but in 116 are the same width as the existing maroon seats.
The new, wider seats, are likely to draw plenty attention. The 60 new seats — 80 seats of the old-width have been removed to make way for the new ones — aren’t cheap: they’re being sold for a three-year term, for $75,000 apiece; aisle seats are $85,000.
