Scientists at Australia's first drug-checking site found meth in a diet pill which was presented for testing.
The pill, which was an orange and grey gel capsule with the phrase DUROMINE 40 printed on the side, was obtained online and appeared legitimate to the user. Mr Imrie agreed the explosion of the unregulated online drug market was of concern because there was no way to tell what people were really buying.
"So the signs and symptoms relating to a stimulant overdose can include things like overheating, a person could experience confusion, agitation," Ms Tzanetis said.Ms Tzanetis encouraged people who find themselves in similar situations — such as where they were worried about a loved one taking medication — to stay calm as a first response.
