Injured Canadiens Jeff Petry, Jake Evans and Jon Merrill will travel with the team to Las Vegas for the first two games of their StanleyCup semifinal series.
Dominique Ducharme says Jeff Petry, Jon Merrill and Jake Evans are traveling with the Canadiens to Vegas.Petry left Game 3 of the second-round series against the Winnipeg Jets and did not suit up for Game 4, which the Canadiens won in overtime to complete the sweep. Petry has three assists in 10 post-season games while averaging nearly 24 minutes of ice time.
Evans suffered a concussion in the final minute of Game 1 against the Jets after a scary hit from Jets forward Mark Scheifele, who was suspended four games for boarding and didn’t play again in the series. Evans skated on both Friday and Saturday, and could be ready in three to four days, according to Ducharme.
Today was Jake Evans’ second day on the ice, session was longer than yesterday’s. Dominique Ducharme says he could be ready in 3 or 4 days, but the priority is that he be at 100%, so if it needs more time they will be cautious.Merrill hasn’t suited up since May 27 when he played 9:18 in Game 5 of Montreal’s first-round series against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ducharme said on May 29 that Merrill was expected to miss a week or two.
Game 1 of the semifinal series between the Canadiens and Golden Knights is Monday at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN Now.
