Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron underwent hip surgery earlier this week and is expected to make a full recovery in five months.
The team’s general manager Marc Bergevin made the announcement Friday.The 32-year-old had five goals 11 assists while averaging 12:51 of ice-time in 46 regular-season games this past season and skated in all 22 of Montreal’s playoff games during their run to the Stanley Cup Final.
