Mid-way through the first period, a shot from Canadiens defenceman Brett Kulak struck Drouin, who was standing in front of the Red Wings goal. Drouin was able to skate off the ice under his own power but immediately went down the tunnel to the Canadiens' dressing room. The Canadiens officially ruled him out for the remainder of the game at the start of the second period.The 26-year-old leads all Canadiens skaters with seven points through 10 games entering play Tuesday.
