Almost two-thirds of Canadians say they have seen an increase in dangerous driving on their local roads during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new survey from the Canadian Automobile Association .
“In the last few months, we have seen fewer cars on our roads, and more cyclists and pedestrians, who are most at risk when drivers are speeding and distracted behind the wheel,” says Ian Jack, vice-president of public affairs, CAA National. The poll surveyed 2,824 respondents between June 5 and 16, 2020.

According to the poll, 44 per cent of Canadians say they saw someone speeding in the last few months; while aggressive driving, distracted driving, and reckless driving have also seen noted upticks.
