This article analyzes the performance of Canadian golfers on the PGA Tour's West Coast swing, highlighting their collective success and individual achievements.

As the PGA Tour concludes its west coast swing , it's a favorable moment to evaluate the performance of Canadian players throughout the initial weeks of this year's schedule. The customary commencement to the season encompasses the initial seven events, including two in Hawaii, four in California, and a brief sojourn to Arizona for one. Technically, this week's tournament in Mexico could be included in this sequence of events, but for traditional reasons, we'll adhere to the first seven.

This number is suitable as there are seven Canadians eligible for some or all of the tournaments contested thus far. Collectively, they have demonstrated a stellar beginning, with at least one of them securing a position within the top 12 in every event. However, individually, the outcomes may vary. Taylor achieved his fifth PGA Tour victory at the Sony Open, once again displaying his prowess in dramatic fashion with a chip-in eagle on the 72nd hole that earned him a spot in a playoff. For the third time in his career, he triumphed in a tournament decided in extra holes. A tie for ninth at the Genesis Invitational and a tie for twelfth at the American Express were his subsequent best performances, and he successfully made the cut in all six of his appearances. This included a tie for twenty-fifth in his title defense at the WM Phoenix Open. Statistically, it's evident how significantly his game has improved compared to the one that hampered him during the latter half of 2024. The most notable enhancement came in Greens in Regulation. Last year, he ranked 152nd, and this season, he occupies sixth place. Overall, he's ranked 15th in Strokes Gained: Total, compared to 95th in 2024. Taylor has historically performed well on the West Coast, with victories in Hawaii (2025), Phoenix (2024), and Pebble Beach (2020), granting him a triumph in each of the three West Coast swing states. After a subpar second half of the previous season, a renewed mindset that alleviates pressure has been instrumental in his improved performance. Three finishes within the top thirteen for Pendrith, who participated five times on the West Coast. His most distinguished performance was a tie for seventh at the Farmers Insurance Open. This was followed by a tie for ninth at Pebble Beach. He boasts impressive statistics, including ranking second in Greens in Regulation and fourth in Total Driving (a combination of distance and accuracy). However, his putter appears to be awaiting its awakening until he reaches Florida, as he is 152nd in Strokes Gained: Putting, averaging just over thirty putts per round. He concluded 2024 in fifth position in SG: Putting. Corey Conners: B- His tie for fifth at this year's Sentry was his first top-ten finish on that side of the continent since 2019. The following week at Sony, the Listowel, Ont., product missed the cut, the first time in his previous thirty-three starts where he didn't advance to the weekend. It's not that he has been dreadful by any means, just not a contender for victory. He has become accustomed to middling paycheques and recognizes that he might not find his rhythm until he returns to Florida. Statistically, his game's trajectory is also predictable. So far this year, his numbers for Greens in Regulation (15th) and Driving Accuracy (31st) are high. His Putting (134th) and Scrambling (176th) marks are low. These statistics reflect what have always been the strengths and weaknesses of Conners' game. Despite all this, he remains inside the top fifty in the world ranking and has a reserved spot at the Masters. In the past five years, he has played nineteen times in the swing events and has managed only two finishes inside the top twenty and missed the cut six times. This year, after missing the cut at the Sony, he played the weekend at the American Express, Pebble Beach, and Phoenix, finishing T58, T40, and T36. Typically one of the best putters on the PGA Tour, the West Coast greens aren't among his favorites, and he returns to Florida sitting 136th in Strokes Gained: Putting. He was 18th in the category last year. None of this is particularly concerning. Based on past experience, Hughes will rebound as the season progresses, just as he has done in previous years, perhaps even achieving career victory No. 3. Despite his attempts to even out the highs and lows of his game, he is a hot-and-cold golfer, and not many of those highs occur early in the year. There was a top ten at the WM Phoenix Open, a missed cut at the American Express, an event where he's finished second twice, and a round of 83 at the Genesis at Torrey Pines. That score equaled his career high, which he's shot twice before. He was 75th in Strokes Gained: Total, better than the 111th spot he ended 2024. He was also better in Putting, Greens in Regulation, Tee to Green, and Around the Green. In that last category, he was in 34th spot compared to 103rd at the end of 2024. Silverman made four starts, with his best finish an impressive tie for sixteenth at the WM Phoenix Open. He finished 69th in the Sony and missed the cut in two other starts. His best weapon so far this season has been the putter, and he is seventh in Total Putting
