In 2019, a $900-million class-action lawsuit was settled with veterans and military personnel who suffered sexual misconduct within the Armed Forces. Survivors of the LGBTQ+ Purge received $145 million in a 2018 settlement with the government. Additionally, a separate group of military members and veterans are currently pursuing a lawsuit against the Armed Forces, alleging discrimination and stigmatization based on their mental health.
