Canadian Chuba Hubbard 's breakout 2024 season appears to be over after he was placed on injured reserve by the Carolina Panthers due to calf and knee injuries. Hubbard, 25, of Sherwood Park, Alta., had a career-high 1,195 rushing yards this season, becoming just the second Canadian to break the 1,000-yard rushing threshold in a single NFL campaign. He needed 159 yards over Carolina's final two games to surpass Rueben Mayes's single-season rushing record of 1,353 yards set in 1986.
Last week, Hubbard rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score in overtime, in Carolina's victory over the Arizona Cardinals. His performance earned him NFC offensive player of the week honours
