Victoria Police is asking for assistance in the national search for Colin Monkman.
VicPD says Monkman was arrested at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal after he was sighted on BC Ferries. The original story is preserved below.A Canada-wide warrant for Monkman’s arrest follows an alleged failure to comply with the conditions of his release.
VicPD says Monkman was last seen in downtown Victoria wearing a red shirt, black pants, black hoodie, black jacket, and brown shoes. He is 30 years old, five feet six inches tall, medium build, black hair, medium complexion and brown eyes. Monkman also has notable face and neck tattoos, including a teardrop under his right eye and an ‘M’ under his right eye.
Monkman is serving a sentence for several weapons-related convictions, assault, and violating conditions of a peace bond. He is known to frequent the Victoria downtown core, Victoria West, and the Burnside area.
