South Africa’s only score came in the 64th minute, a try from Nomawethu Mabenge. The Springboks were forced to play with 14 for the majority of the match following a red card to Catha Jacobs for a high tackle in the sixth minute of play. The test match was the first for Canada following its fourth-place performance at the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand last fall. Nineteen players have returned from the World Cup squad, including Taylor and fellow ex-St. Francis Xavier X-Women standouts Tyson Beukeboom and Sara Kaljuvee.
