🇨🇦 Andre De Grasse has qualified for the final of the men's 100-metre race at Tokyo2020.

De Grasse ran a 9.98 out of Lane 6 Sunday morning to move on to the final race which is expected to start at 8:50 a.m. ET. He finished second behind Fred Kerley of the United States who finished with a 9.96.The Ontario native is looking for his fourth career Olympic medal. He earned bronze in the 100-metre race in Rio, as well as in the men's 4x100 relay. De Grasse also won silver in the men's 200-metre event in 2016.

Donovan Bailey and Bruny Surin still hold the Canadian record in the 100-metre event with a time of 9.84. This is the first Summer Games without Jamaican superstar Usain Bolt who has won the 100 and 200 in the past three Olympics.
