More people willing to buy electric vehicles, but Canada still behind global numbers

The study said 55 per cent of the 15,000 people surveyed in 20 countries were interested in buying EVs, which is a slight increase from 52 per cent last year. The interest level in Canada increased to 52 per cent, up from 46 per cent last year, but that is still behind the global average. Light-duty vehicles, such as passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks, account for about half of Canada’s emissions from the transportation sector, according to government data. To meet Canada’s goal of, the government is forcing the car industry to only sell zero-emission vehicles, such as EVs, by 2035.
