On Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said new sanctions will be imposed on Putin himself, as well as his chief of staff and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Putin doesn’t have much personal wealth in Canada, but the goal is to join an international front, Trudeau said. “We want to make sure we’re suffocating the Russian regime,” Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly told reporters in Ottawa on Friday.
