The Public Health Agency of Canada reported that a third person died from a Listeria outbreak related to Great Value and Silk plant-based milks. The recall includes specific brands and types of plant-based milk with best-before dates up to and including October 4.
This year, there have been 139 food recalls so far, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Experts suggest that heightened awareness and rigorous testing might contribute to the perceived increase in recalls, but data does not indicate a significant rise in food safety issues
