His two-run combined time of 1:39.922 seconds secured the victory. Langenhan expressed his satisfaction with the repeat win, acknowledging the challenging nature of the Whistler track. He also praised his teammates, emphasizing the collective effort that contributed to their success. The Austrian luge athlete, Nico Gleirscher, took home the bronze medal in the men's singles. Langenhan had already claimed gold in the new mixed singles discipline on Thursday, partnering with Taubitz, who also triumphed in the women's singles race on Friday. Canada's three sleds, however, were unable to advance to the second round of the men's singles race. Theo Downey led the Canadian charge in the first run, finishing 22nd with a time of 50.815 seconds. Dylan Morse placed 26th, while Bastian van Wouw, competing in his first senior-level race, finished 28th.
