Paul Reubens reportedly approached Uncut Gems filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie for the project

The Safdies have not responded to the report on their active Twitter feed; a representative for the directors did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Reubens turns 68 this year but Pee-wee Herman doesn't age. The idea would be to utilize digital technology to de-age the star for the potential film.
