Check out JustinM_NFL's latest interview with App State RB Cam_Peoples6. Peoples talked about his NFL Combine performance, his unique blend of backfield abilities, his mentors, and so much more. NFLDraft
, leaping an explosive 37-inch vertical at the terrific size of 6-foot-1, 217 pounds.
Camerun Peoples: I was pretty happy with my performance. Overall, I’d give myself a pretty good grade. I was just excited to be there and to have received an invite. I wouldn’t trade that experience for the world. I’m super blessed to be in this position. They asked me about my interest in music. I was like wow, that’s a new one . It was kind of cool. They really got in-depth with who you are as a person. I found it interesting. It definitely caught me a little off guard. I was a little surprised about that.
Coming out of high school, I was just a fast, speedy back that wanted to get outside on every play. I wasn’t always looking for contact. Once I got to college, I was the tallest, biggest running back in the room. I wanted to develop the physicality that I was seeing out of Jalin Moore. He was a beast of a running back at App State. I wanted to add that to my game.
Whenever I stepped on the field, I knew what the assignment was. We needed to get a first down or we needed a touchdown. When I brought physicality to the game, it just made it easier for us to capture that energy. We had that edge in the fourth quarter. We wore down defenses.Camerun Peoples: I met with all 32 teams at the Senior Bowl. I had a bunch of informal meetings at the combine as well. I have some more meetings coming up. I recently met with the New York Jets on Zoom.
If I end up with a zone-based team, I probably wouldn’t have to adjust as much because we ran so much zone in college. But my background in a gap scheme means I’m versatile and adaptable. A zone-based offense in the NFL would probably make for an easier adjustment, minus the speed and terminology. That would be an easier transition.Camerun Peoples: It was nice and calm. Everybody knows everybody. It’s a family-oriented spot. I grew up around my entire family. Everybody was in the area.
