A class of Grade 7 students is bringing the news to life at their Nanaimo Elementary School, in a unique new program. The kids write, shoot and present their own pint sized newscast each week, and its growing the curiosity and teamwork of students with each episode.

It’s a flurry of activity as home-built projects are cleared from the news desk, while on-camera anchors rush to their marks in front of a green screen, and the camera operator gets ready to roll. “They really enjoy this project, because they kind of get all together, and then at the end of the week we see the result, it’s very rewarding,” said Traspedini.
