The mural is a reflection of the children as they progress through the years
As part of Education Week activities in Greater Sudbury, Cambrian College gave new meaning to paint by numbers in its latest mural, which graces the entrance at Northeastern Elementary School in Garson.
Unveiled on May 6 to mark the beginning of Education Week, Rainbow District School Board said the mural is “a reflection of the students themselves as they progress through the years.” Silhouettes of 10 children, who were photographed for the project, represent all grade levels, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.
As for the artists themselves, it involved Cambrian College arts faculty members Johanna Westby and Lümen Jefferson, and the following students: “Northeastern Elementary School hosts many activities in school, within our board and within the broader community,” said Northeastern Elementary School Principal Jodie Pakkala.
