Lalonde placed second at a provincial competition for heating, ventilation and air conditioning technician students.
The competition consisted of running gas piping, installing a venting system, and hooking up a modern furnace. There was also an interview component where competitors spoke about their passion for the HVAC trade. Lalonde was one of four students from Cambrian competing in the event. They were coached by HVAC faculty member Shaun Bryanton.
