In addition to winning medals, athletes will be looking to qualify for a spot at the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, Italy. Dommett said the legacy of hosting the 1988 Olympic Winter Games will be incorporated into the event. “I’ve lived in this city my entire life and what I have witnessed is people that step up,” said Bernard. “They step up when it matters most. They sponsor, they donate their time, they volunteer, and all of that creates magical events as most of us have seen.”Article content
