Neufeld said he could see political manoeuvring taking place that puts his department between two conflicting views, such as over gun ownership laws, but that he doesn’t expect there to be a ton of disruptions. He said from a public safety lens, police in Alberta have been advocating for consistency across the board, regardless of where directives are coming from.
