Calgary Farmers' Market set to open grand new location in Greenwich yyc yycbiz
It relocated into a new home at Blackfoot Trail and Heritage Drive S.E. in 2011, and its success had general manger Stacey Petropoulos soon searching for another location across the river to better serve its loyal shoppers and potential new customers in the north part of the city.
Petropoulos has been in her role as general manger for the past 11 years, hired because of her strong background in real estate facilities management, which brought her property management, leasing, marketing and accounting experience to the farmers’ market when it moved into larger premises. Inside, the grand hall looks massive, but Scott Pennock, managing principal/interior design at Riddell Kurczaba Architecture. and his team have created a splendid mixture of spaces for the 67 vendors — 12 with full kitchens.Article content
Petropoulos is also thrilled with Pennock’s design of a 5,000-square-foot event centre on a mezzanine floor built at the west end of the building. Accessed by a dedicated west end elevator, she says it will be ideal for weddings, parties and corporate events for up to 140 guests. It is serviced by its own full commercial kitchen and full bar.Article content
